Not being able to see the forest

When you look at this picture what do you see? Do you see a bunch of trees or a forest? Both are correct views but one of them is more scriptural. Too many times we get caught up in looking at the verses of the bible and we miss the entire message. We miss the bigger picture. All kinds of unscriptural messages and lessons can be taught just plucking verses out of the air if we do not keep the message of the book that was written in mind. To really understand Romans you have to read the whole book. Don't just study a few verses here and there pick up your bible and read the entire thing. Then go back and read each chapter one at a time. You will find a whole new perspective come into focus. Paul letters were not written to be picked apart. They were meant to be read completely. The context of each verse has to be kept in mind if you are going to understand what God is saying through Paul. Too many times we get so busy looking at parts of the tree that we can not step back and look at the forest.

Looking at the forest is how I have gained some of my insights, through the Holy Spirit, into the bible. I suggest you try it as well.
